Why Join Buy One Get One Free Coupon Frenzy

Posted by Tiffany Scott on Monday, 28 December, 2009

The economy is making it difficult for many us to do everyday shopping for necessities, let alone the ability to splurge on luxuries. An amazing way to save money is using coupons. I know exactly what you’re thinking. I also was one of those people that grunted and groaned every time I had to wait for someone to sift through their enormous stack of coupons. But that was before I had an eye opening experience at the grocery store one day. A lady if front me handed the cashier her stack of coupons and waited for her total. Being behind her I could hear the cashier tell her that her savings for the day were seventy dollars. After picking my jaw up I asked her how she did it. She simply smiled and said “buy one get one free coupon.”

Finally it was my turn at the register. Having no coupons to present for my purchases my total came to much more than the coupon ladies and I had a severely smaller amount of items than her. I grumbled all the way home and swore I would find out about the coupon gold mine.

What I found was there are coupons for anything and everything, both necessities and luxuries. I remembered my mom cutting out coupons from the newspaper every Sunday so that it where I did my first research. There were coupons for every restaurant we ate it, diapers for the grandchildren, oil changes and then I found the mother of all coupons.

I admit I was excited over my finds; however, the excitement really hit me when I found a coupon for an expensive spa I had been dying to try but never had the cash for. The coupon was for “me and a friend” to get free massages with purchase of pedicure and manicure. That was the most relaxing three hours I ever spent with my sister. We got treated like royalty for three hours at cost of a measly thirty dollars. This experience convinced there really is something to this coupon thing. I am now hooked and do my fair share of holding up the line at the grocery store.

It is possible to find a coupon valid for anything at any time. The hard part is deciding which ones will be used. If you eat out several times a week, there are coupons available to save you hundreds of dollars a year on pizza, burgers and specialty restaurants. It is important to read the restrictions of coupons used for restaurants prior to trying to use them. Some will require a specific food item or only a one topping pizza, however, there are some that are buy one meal and get another one free.

Coupons will vary in their amount as well. Some will offer a certain percentage off a total price or you must buy a specific product in order to get a discount on a different product. If you find a coupon for fifty cents off of a bag of bagels when you purchase a specific brand of tofu, however, you do not eat tofu; it would not be worth using the coupon. Saving fifty cents is nice but not if you have to spend five dollars on tofu that will be thrown out.

When cutting out coupons for the week you should put aside a couple of hours to make sure you read them and cut out all of the ones you intend to use. Sunday is a great day to spend a few hours sifting through the newspaper for coupons or you can go to an online site and request specific coupons to be sent through your email.

Shopping can be frustrating when trying to save money but using coupons will cut your bill down tremendously. Cut out and take with you only the coupons you know you will use. The most glorious coupon is the buy one get one free coupon. When you find these, use them. Many times you can get items that will make it possible for you to stock up. Paper and non perishable items are great coupon buys because even if you do not currently need the item, you can keep it in stock.

Finally, many people are taking notice of Coupon Shoebox coupons and all the savings that it is providing everyone.

Show The Kids Where To Find Online Coupons

Posted by Lucy Jackson on Sunday, 13 December, 2009

Long gone are the days where we had to wait patiently for the Sunday paper in order to find the coupons! Even though there are still plenty of coupons in newspapers – and junk mail and other print media – there are plenty of options as to where to find online coupons as well.

Once companies realized that the Internet would become a way of living, they started putting coupons all over the place. Large and small companies alike will put coupons on their websites – sometimes these are duplicates of ones we have seen in print, and other times these are unique only to their website.

Finding online coupons is easy. However, some of the sites that the search engines direct you to are nothing more than single pages with a bunch of links sending you elsewhere. The verdict is out as to how useful this type of portal page is. You might have better luck going directly to the individual stores you are interested in shopping at.

When you do find coupons, however, make certain you can use them where you want to. Some coupons found online can only be used online – you can’t print them and use them in the store.

It depends, too, on what type of coupons you are looking for online. If you are searching for coupons to use for perhaps some takeout on the way home from work, you might have better luck searching on each website/restaurant you are interested in. Pizza places, chicken, Chinese… They’re all online. Many are using new technology so that you can even place your order online and use the coupons you just found at the same time!

Of course, keep in mind that “coupons” can mean many things online. Sometimes you won’t actually be presented with a coupon, but you will see a host of incredibly attractive deals and sales. And if you have the opportunity to save, who cares how you do it?

One store had an incredible $5 coupon not long ago, and people figured out quickly that this coupon could be printed and used multiple times for the three months it was good. Finding these deals is a truly great find.

A simple online search at any of the large search engines will bring you to many sites where you can find coupons, coupon codes, and special deals galore.

Whether it’s Acrobat, Photoshop or Elements, Adobe promo code will help you save some money.

Money Tips for Dishes

Posted by Jessica Hayton on Friday, 20 November, 2009

If you ever want to move out of the house, you will need to buy dishes eventually. Check out this post if you are looking to not spend a bundle on something that you almost have to buy.

Getting dishes from the salvage store is a great way to save some money and not having to sacrifice. With dishes washed pretty much every time they are used, buying them anywhere will look like new.

Never buy dishes from stores that specialize in dishes. Go to those hardware stores that almost never have any selection because when they need to clear out the stale inventory, you get crazy savings.

You can often make your own dishes with ceramic at a cheap price. Those that have the time can just go to those classes and try to make a beautiful dish that you can call your own.

When it comes to older and often more durable china, porcelain or glassware, a yard sale or flea market can be a great place for bargains. Often electrical frying pans, toasters, irons and the like can be found at very reasonable prices at these venues.

One warning though. Never buy dishes with cracks obviously so check diligently to see if there are any chips. One small imperfection can lead to a broken dish very quickly.

Those that don’t have much money should just buy the biggest dish and save themselves storage space as well as money. You can always use a bigger dish in place of a small one.

Unless you have a house with ten people, don’t go to warehouses like Costco or Sam’s Club because the dishes are sold in bulk. It’s not like you ever have to use all 15 dishes in that package anyway.

Some scratches and chips are impossible to see with the naked eye. Once you’ve looked them over, rub your finger against the mouth and bottom of the dish or glass.

Thrift shops that sell clothing and everyday household products are actually a great place to get dishes because no one ever expects to find them there.

Use the Overstock coupon to get yourself some free savings for everyone’s gifts this holiday season.
